Thanks to Debi Hallmark and Sailing Singles for sponsoring this event. After a 4-year hiatus, Boatathalon returned in 2018 with a multi novel theme: Robinson Carusoe, Swiss Family Robinson, Treasure Island, or Gulliver's Travels. SFSB also participated in this multi-club event. Finally, we had the after party at Flip Flops, with most people still roving around in costume.
June 17, 2017: Left the ramp at 10, stopped at the traditional Ouzo tree and continued on to Big Fat Greek Wedding. A great time was had by all. Thanks to Sam and Gregg for setting it up
Thanks to the Gastesi family for hosting another fantastic Halloween Party, and thanks to Rosemary Chelick-Mahon for organizing the party.
Horrendous racing conditions, 40 mph wind gusts and 8 foot seas, just to keep it interesting. Many boats didn't start and many of those that did were forced to drop out due to damage. However, the party was a fantastic time and the day was saved. Lots of money was raised for this worthy cause and everyone had a great time.
3 Boat raftup: Alberta Rose, Catmandu, and Takabrake, joined by Past Commodore Mike Sawzak and Roxana in a dinghy. The day started off with torrential rains but it cleared up before the parade. After the parade we rafted up to Blue Bayou and spent the night at Lake Sylvia. Photos by Andrea Keyser.
